- In 2014, Google made a call for HTTPS to be used by every website on the internet. Understanding the importance of internet security, KartHost™ updated all our pages to HTTPS that same year.
- Then in September of this 2016, Google announced it will start labeling websites that do not have an SSL certificate as “not secure” taking it’s initiative to the next level.
- Now, on it’s heels, WordPress is also encouraging sites to be HTTPS by default across the web. Matt Mullenweg, co-founder of the open source WordPress project recently announced, WordPress “will only promote hosting partners that provide a SSL certificate by default in their accounts.”
