To sign up for Google Workspace and start using its services, you need an internet domain name. This domain name typically takes the form of your organization’s name and a standard internet suffix (aka .tld), such as mybusiness.com or stateuniversity.edu.
If available you can register your own personal name as a domain name.

The reason you need a domain name is that it becomes the main brand for your Google services. By default, users you add to your account get a username at this domain—such as tammy@example.com. They’ll use this name to sign in to their Google account and as their email address (if you’re using Gmail).

Moreover, having a verified domain ensures that no one is using your domain name for Google services without your permission. You can use a domain name that you already own, or you can purchase a domain name when you sign up for Google Workspace.

Each user in Google Workspace has their own storage limit based on their plan. So, a user on the Enterprise Plus plan would have 5 TB of storage, and a user on the Business Starter plan would have 30 GB. These storage limits are not shared between users, even if they are on the same domain. Therefore, each user uses their own storage limit.

Indeed, it is compatible. Your current email client can connect with Google Workspace using either the IMAP or POP mail protocol, based on the client’s capabilities. If you’re transitioning from Microsoft Exchange or a similar Outlook service, Google Workspace Sync would be a suitable option.
Upon acquiring your Google Workspace account (also known as Google business email), you’ll be able to utilize email transfer solutions. There are tools provided for migrating from various platforms such as IMAP servers, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, and even other Google accounts.
Indeed, it’s possible to migrate your current Google Workspace account to KartHost. However, please note that any existing tenure with your previous provider won’t be transferred. At the moment, only the new Google Workspace plans can be transferred, not the older G Suite Basic or G Suite Business plans. The ability to transfer these plans will be available soon.
