About Us
We Are Roy and Gail Randolph — and This Is Our Story
KartHost was built on servant’s hearts, a passion for people, and a belief that small businesses deserve the same world-class technology and support that Fortune 500 companies take for granted — delivered with a personal touch you can actually reach.
We are Roy and Gail Randolph, the founders of KartHost. From the very beginning, our “why” was never just websites and email. It was you — the entrepreneur, the small business owner, the person pouring your heart into something you built from scratch. We understood that journey because we lived it ourselves.

How KartHost Was Born (Hint: It Started with Go-Karts)
Believe it or not, KartHost didn’t begin with a business plan or a vision board. It began with volunteering.
In the late 1990s, Roy and Gail started volunteering at a local kart racing club, maintaining the club’s website. Roy — a commercial airline pilot by trade — and Gail — who came from a background in office management at a data center — brought a unique combination of technical precision and operational know-how. Word spread quickly through the karting community, and before long they were managing websites and hosting for kart clubs and tracks all across Texas.
The challenge? Every club’s hosting was scattered across different companies all over the country, making it complicated and inefficient to manage. In early 2000, Roy and Gail found a smarter solution: leasing a single Cobalt server through a contact at EV1 (Everyone’s Internet) that could house all the club websites in one place.
When they presented the idea to the clubs and tracks — “let us move your sites and pay us what you’re already paying your current hosts” — the answer was a resounding YES.
That single “yes” launched a debt-free business doing something they were genuinely passionate about.
In homage to their karting roots, they named the company The Kart Company, officially founded in June 2000. In 2004, they rebranded to the name you know today: KartHost.com.
More Than a Business — A Life of Serving Others
Roy and Gail were never just business owners. Service was woven into everything they did.
From 2003 to 2020, they served as Financial Peace University (FPU) Coordinators, teaching and supporting around thirty-five classes. They volunteered at nearly twenty of Dave Ramsey’s FPU and EntreLeadership Live Events all across Texas — and yes, they have the t-shirts to prove it. In 2016 and 2017, KartHost traveled the United States as a sponsor for Dave Ramsey events, meeting clients from coast to coast and having an incredible time doing it.
Community involvement wasn’t an afterthought — it was a calling. Gail was honored to serve on the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce board for five years, including the distinguished honor of serving as Chair in 2018. She also served ten years on the board of Tomball Business & Professional Women, a networking organization dedicated to raising scholarship money for high school graduates and women in need. Roy and Gail both served on the board of Network Texas in Tomball.
Roy’s dedication to the industry extended into the email world as well — he served on the Email Advisory Board at Rackspace for a couple of years, a point of quiet pride for the entire KartHost team.
Roy’s Legacy
In early 2025, our co-founder and COO Roy Randolph danced into the arms of Jesus. Not a day goes by that we don’t feel his steady presence in the way we serve our clients — personally, patiently, and with an unwavering focus on long-term success.
Roy believed that technology should work for people, not the other way around. He believed in doing things right, saying what you mean, and following through — every single time. Those values are not a memory. They are the foundation KartHost is still built on, and they will continue to guide everything we do.
A New Chapter — The Same Heart
Around the time Roy went home to be with the Lord, our son Joe Randolph joined the KartHost team, continuing the family tradition of taking care of clients the way Roy taught us: with honesty, patience, and a genuine investment in your success.
And our Tech Guru, Austin Poehlman, has been a steady, dedicated presence throughout — keeping your email, hosting, and domains running smoothly and bringing his own commitment to Kartnatical Support every single day.
KartHost Today — The Same Mission, Better Tools
A lot has changed in web hosting and email since 2000 — and we’ve grown right along with the industry to make sure our clients always have the best tools available.
