What are FrontPage Extensions and Do I Need Them?

Microsoft FrontPage LogoIf you’re using the 3rd party MicroSoft Web authoring program FrontPage™ to write and design your Web site on your own computer and publish the final product to a Web hosting account on one of our servers, you will need software installed on your Web site on our servers that will allow you to use those FrontPage features. For a list of features in FrontPage™ that require FrontPage Extensions refer to your copy of the FrontPage™ documentation.

Just because you are using FrontPage™ to build your Web site, you do not need to use the WebBot (FrontPage's way of publishing your Web site on the server) to publish your Web site files. Publishing of your sites files can be done by the built in FTP (File Transfer Protocol) which is the standard way of publishing to remote servers.

IMPORTANT NOTE: As of June 30, 2006 Microsoft ended the Life of FrontPage™ Extensions for Linux powered servers. (See this web page for detail information http://www.rtr.com/fpsupport/) And because of this KARTHOST is no longer offering FrontPage™ Extensions on our Linux web servers. However will do now offer FrontPage™ Extensions on our Windows hosting packages. Unlike the old Linux FrontPage™ Extensions the Windows FrontPage™ Extensions are designed for FrontPage™ 2003 with SharePoint™ Services.

Please Contact Us for our Windows hosting package details with Microsoft FrontPage™ Extensions.
